How we approach it
Airborne noise (voices, TV, music) and impact noise (footsteps, doors, dropped things) travel completely differently, so they need different treatments. Airborne noise is beaten with mass and separation: acoustic plasterboard in layers, dense mineral wool in the cavity and a decoupled frame so vibration cannot bridge across. Impact noise needs the structure itself broken up — resilient bars, isosonic hangers and acoustic mats such as Tecsound under the floor finish.
